2020 Lincoln Corsair
Standard / Reserve / Grand Touring (1st gen, 2020–present)
Low Risk

The Corsair (formerly MKC) is Lincoln's entry luxury crossover on the Ford Escape platform. Good value vs European rivals. The 2.0T EcoBoost is the standard proven choice and the 2.3T is the performance upgrade; the Grand Touring PHEV arrived for 2021. Main risks: 2.0T fuel injector issues on some early builds, and SYNC4 infotainment bugs resolved via updates. Well-maintained Corsairs are smooth, comfortable daily drivers at a fair price.

What the VIN tells you

The 2020 Corsair offered two turbocharged gas engines: the 2.0T EcoBoost I4 (250 hp), 8th VIN digit '9', and the 2.3T EcoBoost I4 (295 hp), 8th VIN digit 'H'. Decode the 8th digit to confirm which you're buying — the 2.3T is quicker but carries higher fuel and service costs. The 2.5L Grand Touring plug-in hybrid was designated a 2021 model-year vehicle, so a genuine 2020 Corsair is gas-only ('9' or 'H'). Run the full VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm the 2020-2022 engine-manufacturing recall and any other open campaign are closed before purchase.
